Vattanac Golf Resort in Cambodia launched an inspiring family golf tournament. The first of its kind in the country, the annual 2 Gen Championship took place on 5th December 2021 and was inspired by the USPGA tours father-son event.

The first event saw 28 teams with 56 individual golfers playing in a Texas Scramble format. The tournament ties into one of Vattanac Golf Resorts’ primary objectives to facilitate the growth of golf in Cambodia, and to create unique opportunities and experiences for new golfers, along with creating special family-driven experiences. The game of golf has many benefits, with one of the standout ones being the opportunity to spend a full day with all generations of family outdoors. The winning team of this 1st event was Oknha Sean Soyany & Oknha Sour Sarith.

The event received strong support from Vattanac Group – Vattanac Brewery (Vattanac Premium Beer), Vattanac Bank, Rosewood Phnom Penh, – from the famous and successful brands such as Huawei, SCG, Metfone; well-known apparel brand BOSS, golf equipment brand Srixon and others.

With this in mind, it seemed fitting to launch Vattanac Golf Resort’s tournament schedule with this special event. Vattanac Golf Resort will create a number of tournaments, with various formats and of various sizes. Some of these tournaments will be defined as “majors”, and they will be in place every single year – with major trophies and an Honors board which will create history and legacy.
